Pupdate

Jasper is home! He is pleased to be back with his friend, Porky Pig. You can see that they had to shave big bands of fur off his paws for the IVs. Between that, and the shaving for the surgery, he looks like a very patchy rug...

He is relieved to be back at his post. He was very worried that the Evil Hordes of Satanic Squirrels might have overrun the place in his absence.

Don't tell Jasper I said so, but with the shave they gave him he's looking a lot like a standard poodle! Hope the recovery is swift!

Great news. My NC English Pointer, adopted and diagnosed with advanced lung cancer two years ago, is still hyper-active and fit as a fiddle. Amazing what strength dogs can have (there's a 17-year-old, three-legged dog, hopping around at the doggie park we go to).

Except for the haircut, Jasper looks as fit as a fiddle!

Hope things settle down for all of you; you've been through the mill. As for the doggy day care...?!

Excellent news! And glad to see you blogging again.

Did you get a diagnosis for Jasper?

Wormwood's Doxy said...

Caminante--it's a risk you take when you put them in daycare. The owner assumes all liability. :-(

Lisa--just a generic diagnosis of "gastroenteritis." Well, that and a whopping bill from our state-supported public veterinary hospital. He got great care there, but I was stunned to find out that they charge more than the private emergency clinics!

Just came over to check out if you've done anything since Lent and saw this post about Jasper. Obviously, others carried the day in prayer. I pray that his recovery is complete.

I'm glad to hear it was that "routine" a diagnosis, Doxy. When you mentioned Addison's I went into "alert" mode, for I have a colleague who went through that.

I trust Jasper is gaining strength day by day.

Jasper, Mr. Witty wants me to tell you to not eat grass... just roll in it. And then you will smell all fresh and not like that stinky doctor office. And, PS: Kill dem squirrels... no mercy here either. Hope you feel real good real soon. Peace to your people.
